Intro to Embroidery

Discover the art of hand embroidery in this beginner friendly class, perfect for those who have never touched a needle and thread or those who need a refresher. In this 2 hour class, you will learn about materials, tools, terms and five basic stitches to complete your first piece. These stitches are the foundation needed to start this art form. Enjoy a friendly, relaxing, hands-on learning opportunity in an intimate setting to try a meditative craft that allows you to slow down and create. You will leave with a completed (or close to it!) piece of summer flowers. 

Included: an embroidery hoop, fabric, needle, threads, the flower project pattern and a list of recommended resources

Level: Beginner

  • How to thread a needle

  • How to read and start a pattern

  • Overview of materials: hoops, fabric, thread, needles, etc

  • Five different stitches that include both lines and loops

  • Best practices for a polished finished piece
